Healthier Recipes: Faux Cookie Dough Dip

Definitely try this at home!

Planning ahead for the holiday season should include a plan for survival. As our calendars fill up with festive events, so should our arsenal of healthy meal and dessert replacements

Faux Cookie Dough Dip is a family favorite at my house, nearly guilt-free snacking that satisfies cravings for something sweet!

Faux Cookie Dough Dip: (an alternative hummus)

In a food processor blend:

1 can drained garbanzo beans

3-4 Tablespoons brown sugar (dependent on taste preferences)

¼ cup peanut butter,

3 Tbsp oats

1 Tbsp milk

2 tsps vanilla

1/8 tsp salt

1/8 tsp baking soda

Once blended, remove from processor and fold-in about 1/3 cup chocolate chips.  Substitute with butterscotch or any other flavored chips you like.

Serve with sliced apples, bananas, graham crackers, pretzels.

Originally from Family Fun magazine, April 2014.  Adapted to remove some of the sugar, but not the taste!
